Laurion / Lorillon family

Since the 1660s, my family has been based in Graçay (18 - Cher).

To this day, the cradle of my family seems to be around Poulaines (36 - Indre).

René Lorillon and Jeanne Minaud (Sosa n ° 2560 and n ° 2561) lived from 1640-1643 in Poulaines with their 2 sons, Jacques and Robert. Their last son Vincent was born there on March 12, 1644.

Vincent LORILLON (Sosa n ° 1280) married on February 6, 1663 with Marguerite TIRET (n ° 1281) in Saint-Phallier (parish attached in 1803 to Graçay, 18 - Cher).

The children of this couple, although married in Avexy in 1693 (also a parish attached to Graçay in 1803), lived in Saint-Phallier from 1666 to 1717 before leaving for the village of Avexy at the Moulin de Champmartin. Several generations of LORILLON and LAURION have succeeded one another in Graçay; working as millers in the various mills of the Baronnie de Graçay until 1820.

Our name underwent a spelling change in 1868 when Jacques LORILLON (n ° 40) declared the birth of his son Eugène (father) LAURION (n ° 20), my great-great-grandfather, at the town hall de Genouilly (18 - Cher). Jacques LORILLON not knowing how to read or write, the registrar of the time, G. Renaud transcribed our name as he understood it.

This while his brothers born respectively in 1865 and 1869 and his sister born in 1871, still in Genouilly, are declared under the name of LORILLON.

Also today, I have cousins who bear the surname LORILLON and other LAURION.

In April 1995, a first family reunion brought together the descendants of Jacques LORILLON in Mur-de-Sologne (41).
