Lorion Guy was born on March 23rd, 1953, in Montreal, Canada. Married to Luz-Maria Bermejo, he is the son of Guy Lorion, Sr., and Rita Miville, and the father of Marissa and André-Philippe.
His passion for rifle shooting started when he was 14 years old. Shooting, as a sport, has been practiced for many centuries throughout Europe. The appeal of this sport increased in the United States in 1871 and in England in 1959 with the foundation of the National Rifle Association.
The Olympic program consists of 15 shooting events divided into three categories: air rifle, pistol and shotgun (shotgun trap and skeet events are executed on moving targets). The air rifle and pistol events are organized in shooting stands in front of targets placed at 10, 25 and 50 meters distance.
To be precise, rifle and pistol shooters must be perfectly still. To do so, they use relaxation techniques which help them reduce their heart rates by half. They shoot between two heartbeats. The objective is to aim their shots to the centre of the bull’s eye, which, at such distances, appears as a tiny black spot.
Guy Lorion represented Canada in many international shooting events such as the World Championships, Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games, Championships of the Americas, Shooting World Cup and Olympic Games in around 25 countries.
Guy Lorion won the gold medal in air rifle, team silver medal in rifle three positions and bronze medal in rifle three positions at the Pan American Games of San Juan (Puerto Rico) in 1979.

Team silver medallist in air rifle and bronze medallist in rifle three positions at the Pan American Games of Caracas (Venezuela) in 1983.
